Terrorism should be defied unitedly: Kodela Siva Prasada

Terrorism signifies a global threat that should be confronted unitedly, AP Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao said today .

AP Assembly Speaker said sorrow over the loss of lives in the recent suicide bombing at a Coptic Christian church here in which 25 people were killed.

He reached the Egyptian capital today. was received by the Speaker of Egyptian People’s Assembly Ali Abdel Aal.

During his meeting with Aal, Rao said that India was also suffering from the menace of terrorism, adding that “we should all stand together to confront the global threat”.

They discussed the historical ties between the two countries. The Egyptian Speaker referred to the fact that the leaderships in both countries established The Non-Aligned Movement(NAM) movement.

He also touched on the key economic dimensions of the bilateral ties including trade exchange which is estimated at USD 4 billion and Egyptian-Indian joint ventures.

Aal expressed Egypt’s desire on benefitting from the Indian progress in the field of information technology.

He also shared the keenness of the Egyptian People’s Assembly to form a parliamentary friendship association with the Indian parliament as soon as possible “as it will play an important role in developing the parliamentary relations between the two counties”.

On his part, Rao referred to India’s interest in boosting its ties with Egypt and said that the meetings between the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi had imparted new momentum to bilateral relations.
