ELECTION OFFICIAL ASKS TRUMP FOR VOTER FRAUD EVIDENCE
Washington: A US Federal Elections Commission official called on President Donald Trump to give proof of voter fraud, after he reportedly made claims in a meeting with senators.
Trump reportedly blamed voter fraud for why both he and former Senator Kelly Ayotte lost in New Hampshire in November during the meeting on Thursday with a bipartisan group of senators, The Hill magazine reported.
Commissioner Ellen Weintraub said in a statement on Friday that the scheme the President of the US alleges would constitute thousands of felony criminal offences under New Hampshire law.
“Allegations of this magnitude cannot be ignored.”
“I therefore decision upon President Trump to straight off share his proof with the general public and with the acceptable law-enforcement authorities in order that his allegations is also investigated promptly and completely.”
Last week, Trump said that he can have Vice President microphone Pence to superintend a special commission for elector fraud.
The president maintains voter fraud might make a case for why 2016 Democratic presidential campaigner Hillary Clinton defeated him in the standard vote by nearly 3 million ballots.
