Four Islamic State-linked militants killed in raid in Bangladesh
According to Bangladesh Police officials, four suspected IS –linked, including woman militants had been killed in raid today.
It further said that those those killed were members of a faction of the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh group, recognized as New JMB. Police believe that they were linked to an attack on a cafe in the capital, Dhaka, last July that killed 22 people.
New JMB has vowed allegiance to the Islamic State militant group, which call for responsibility for the attack on the cafe in Dhaka’s diplomatic quarter.
Police raid on the building began on Wednesday night and live bombs were found inside the building.Bangladesh has been hit by a spate of killings of liberals and members of religious minorities in the past few years.
