Army reveals to have launched “punitive fire assaults” on Pakistani positions across the Line of Control.
The Army also released a video of the military action. While the Army did not give operational details, sources said the strike was carried out on May 9, nine days after the bodies of two Indian soldiers were mutilated.
The retributive assault took place across the Line of Control against Pakistani positions in Naushera sector of Jammu and Kashmir, which were “aiding” infiltration.
Defence Minister Arun Jaitley said the action was to ensure peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
Army carried out punitive fire assaults on Pakistani posts as a retaliation for aiding and abetting infiltration across the LOC.
The posts were instrumental in giving cover fire to help infiltrators cross into the Indian Territory. The video proves that contrary to Pakistani claims their posts have indeed been destroyed with heavy weaponry.
Though the exact date of the action is not given, it is reliably learnt that the video pertains to recent action by the army.
This is part of the proactive strategy of the Army to dominate the LOC and also bring down the number of terrorists operating in the valley.
The government is standing solidly behind the armed forces and supports the proactive action. In a series of tweets, defence minister Arun Jaitley gave thums up to the preemtive & measured actions to counter terrorism in valley & disengage Pak posts across LoC supporting infiltration.
Jaitley further declared unstinted support for the army and infact called such steps vital to ensure peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
On 1st of May, Pakistani BAT teams attacked an Indian Patrol party in which 2 soldiers were martyred in the cowardly attack but what infuriated the entire nation was the mutilation of the bodies of Indian Soldiers.
Indian Army had vowed retaliatory strikes against the barbaric act.
Recent Nowgam encounter on 20th and 21 st of May proves beyond doubt that Pakistan has started aiding the terrorists in their efforts to cross over. 4 terrorists were eliminated in the encounter in Nowgam and 3 of our soldiers were martyred.
The Army has made its intent clear. That any action from Pakistan which is inimical to its national integrity will be responded to with full force and might. The message has been delivered and also got the support from centre.
