Surgical strikes proved that India can defend itself: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi defended the right of India to conduct surgical strikes across the LoC. Addressing the Indian community members in Washington DC, PM Modi said that if India exercises restrain, it can also give a glimpse of its prowess when required.

While urging the members present there to contribute to India’s progress in their capacity, PM Modi promised that they will be able to witness the India they had always dreamt of.

Prime Minister spoke like a statesman, a leader who is not averse to be frank and candid in his speech and who does not mince words. Talking of the surgical strikes conducted by the Indian Army across the line of control in Pakistan occupied Kashmir in September 2016, PM Modi put the message in crisp and clear words – don’t consider the desire for peace as a mark of weakness.

Further he emphasized that surgical strikes also proved that India was able to put the point across the nations that terrorism is a scourge that has to be dealt in rights earnest.

Prime Minister Modi has been inviting big corporates to invest in India. He utilized the moment to appeal to gathering to invest their intellect in India and contribute to the development of the nation.

Prime Minister Modi also stressed that continuous reforms in economic sphere has brought in welcome changes in the investment climate in the country. He also cited instances of direct benefit transfer, success of neem coated urea and other schemes which have brought many changes in the country.
