US says Russia to face ‘results’ for ‘NotPetya’ cyber assault
The USA pinned the blame for the huge 2017 ‘NotPetya” cyber assault firmly on Russia and warned Moscow it’ll face “global consequences.”
The assault, which commenced in Ukraine and Russia before spreading globally, affected thousands of computers, particularly affecting multinational agencies and important infrastructure.
The Kremlin has denied involvement.
“In June 2017, the Russian navy launched the maximum unfavourable and steeply-priced cyber attack in records,” the White house stated in a tersely worded announcement.
“The attack, dubbed ‘NotPetya,’ fast unfold international, causing billions of bucks in harm across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. It become part of the Kremlin’s ongoing effort to destabilise Ukraine,” it said.
