Huge potential to further enhance Indo-Nepal relations:Madhav Kumar
Former Prime Minister of Nepal and senior leader of ruling Nepal Communist Party, Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that there is a huge potential to further enhance Indo-Nepal relations.
Speaking at a symposium on “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Nepal: A Futuristic View” in Lalitpur today, he said that visit was ice breaker and both the countries have shown sincere desire to resolve pending issues.
He also said that India and Nepal should move forward with positive thinking to fulfill past resolutions. The symposium was organised by Nepal-Bharat Friendship Society. In his address, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri said that future perspective of Indo-Nepal relations will depend upon how “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”and “Samridh Nepal, Khushi Nepali” can be made complementary for the benefit of people of both the countries.
Nepali Congress leader and former Foreign Affairs and Finance Minister, Ram Sharan Mahat said that PM Modi’s visit was very refreshing and it has highlighted special bonding between both the countries.
He also said that India is a rising global power and it can be a great source of capital investment and development in Nepal. Rashtriya Janta Party Nepal’s presidium member Rajendra Mahto said that Nepal should take India’s cooperation in the development process.
He also said that mind set needs to be changed to maximize benefits of unique Indo-Nepal friendship. A large number of other dignitaries including members of parliament, former ministers, diplomats, intellectuals and journalists also expressed their views about ways to further enhance age old Indo-Nepal relations.
