PM Modi and Netherlands PM Solar Alliance agreement

PM Modi and Netherlands PM Mark Rutte issue a joint press statement after signing important agreements; PM expresses happiness that Netherlands has become a member of the International Solar Alliance on his personal invitation.

Netherlands on Thursday signed the International Solar Alliance agreement in the national capital. Netherlands is the 64th country to sign ISA framework agreement.

Besides, India and the Netherlands also announced a wide range of MoUs/Agreements and Initiatives across different sectors including Government to government, Knowledge institutions, Water, Agrifood and horticulture, Hi-tech/IT/Space, Life Sciences & Health, Smart Cities, Business and Sustainability.

Later, in a Joint Press briefing Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he discussed regional and global issues with the visiting prime minister.

PM Modi expressed happiness over the decision of Netherlands to join the International Solar Alliance on his appeal.

PM Modi said that the meeting with the CEOs of Neatherlands and India was very productive and assured the business community that India is committed to economic reforms.

Lauding the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in transforming India, Netherlands PM Mark Rutte said that his country is also learning from the way India is being set on developmental path.

Earlier Netherlands Prime Minister Rutte and Prime Minister Modi attended CEOs round-table conference in Delhi.

Both the leaders explored strengthening cooperation in sectors like agriculture & food processing, horticulture, water management, logistics, life sciences & health, among other areas.

During the meeting, PM Modi said that Netherlands strength in technology and innovation is a big opportunity for India cutting across several sectors crucial for India’s development.

Earlier, Indo-Dutch Ganga Forum organized a seminar in the national capital. Netherlands PM along with Indian business delegation and many institutions working for Ganga attended the seminar. On the occasion, Netherlands PM hailed the Namami Gange project and assured full support towards it.

In the morning, Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte held bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital.

Netherlands is an important partner in India’s flagship initiatives with Netherlands being the 4th largest investor in India in diverse sectors.

This is Dutch PM Rutte’s second visit to India since June 2015, but the first after being re-elected as Prime Minister in 2017.
