Centre ready to hold talks with right-minded people in J&K: Home Minister
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today addressed the media in Srinagar. He reiterated that no matter how many obstacles come in our way, we will not be deterred in our aim to bring lasting peace to Kashmir.
He praised the security forces including Army and Police, who have worked with utmost restraint.
Rajnath Singh also said that separatists can play any kind of politics, but they should not play with future of children, these children not only children of Kashmir but also of India, they are an asset. He added that keeping this in mind, the government took back cases of first time stone pelters.
He also said that the government is open to talks with all, you don’t need to be like minded to talk but you do need to be right-minded.
“Giving your children the best of education, and handing out stones to children of others? What is this? I always felt there is a lot of talent in youth here, IAS,IIM etc results are a proof. Youth being misguided by certain forces,” Singh said.
Earlier, Union Home Minister attended the Sports Conclave 2018 at Srinagar along with chief minister Mehbooba Mufti. Over 3,000 sportsmen, students and enthusiasts from the three regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh participated. Addressing the gathering, home minister said under PMDP program Rs 200 crores has been sanctioned for development of sports infrastructure in J&K. He also lauded the sports capabilities youth of the state.
Rajnath Singh told the youth that the future of not only Jammu and Kashmir but also the country is in their hands. He assured that future of J&K youth has always been safeguarded by India and it will remain so in future. Appreciating the sports sprit of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, the minister said that Centre will provide all helps in upgrading the infrastructure of the state.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti sought Centre’s assistance in nourishing the dreams and talents of the youth of the state.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh met Kashmiri girl Tajamul Islam, who won the 2016 World Kickboxing Championship at the J&K Sports Conclave in Srinagar. Tajamul took a selfie with the home minister and J&K CM Mehbooba Mufti.
