Imran Khan becomes 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chief Imran Khan sworn in as 22nd Prime Minister; administered oath of office by President Mamnoon Hussain in a ceremony at President House in Islamabad.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan took over as the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan on Saturday.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at the President House in Islamabad.
Imran Khan was elected Prime Minister of Pakistan by the newly-elected members of the National Assembly on Friday.
Khan bagged 176 votes, while his opponent and Chief of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif managed to secure 96 votes.
The PTI had emerged as the single largest party with 116 seats in the July 25 elections.
