India, Czech Republic sign 3 MoUs
President Ramnath Kovind is in the Czech Republic, on the final leg of his three nation tour of Europe. Three important MoUs were signed between India and the Czech Republic on Friday.
The first relates to visa exemption for diplomatic passport holders. The Second is an MOU in support of India Czech joint projects for the years 2019 -22 and the thrid is an MoU between Czech Academy of Science and CSIR on cooperation in field of Science and Technology.
President Ramnath Kovind invited the Czech Republic to become an important partner in India’s development. The President said there is tremendous potential in the area of defence cooperation. He urged Czech Republic companies in the defence sector to take advantage of the investment climate in India.
Earlier in the day, President Ramnath Kovind was formally welcomed at Prague Castle. On reaching Prague on Thursday, the President had met an Indian business delegation as well as interacted with people of Indian origin who welcomed him, wholeheartedly.
Czech Republic singers sang songs of Kishore Kumar and Mohammed Rafi, in Hindi for the President.
The President said India was ready to deepen ties with the Czech Republic in various areas, and that there are many business opportunities in the field of trade, technology and investment.
In 1996, Shankar Dayal Sharma visited the Czech Republic as President. President Ramnath Kovind’s visit is expected to further strengthen the relationship between India and the the Central Eurpoean country.
