Nepal’s largest exhibition “ConMac 2018” starts in Bhaktapur
Nepal’s largest exhibition on construction equipment and technology “ConMac 2018” has started in Bhaktapur near Kathmandu.
Inaugurating the exhibition this afternoon, Nepal’s Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Raghubir Mahaseth said development is the main agenda of the present government and it is committed to infrastructure development in Nepal.
He said machines and technology are very essential to achieve this goal.
Mahaseth also said that his ministry has plan to construct 6,000 to 8,000 KM roads and prepare Detail Project Report (DPR) for 2,800 KM railway lines in next four years.
In his address, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri said construction industry in Nepal is growing by 11% and it has become one of the fastest growing sector contributing to the GDP of Nepal.
Ambassador Puri also said India has always been and will remain a committed partner of Nepal’s development. 3 day mega event is organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with Embassy of India.
More than 150 business exhibitors and companies from India including JCB, L&T, Hyundai, Caterpillar and Tata Hitachi have showcased their products and services at the exhibition.
Over 4000 business visitors are expected during the exhibition.
The exhibition aims to further enhance high level engagements between construction industry of the two countries.
