EAM Swaraj co-chair India-UAE JCM for Economic and Technical Cooperation
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Foreign Minister of UAE Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan co-chaired 12th India-UAE Joint Commission Meeting for Economic and Technical Cooperation.
The leaders held exhaustive discussions on cooperation in energy, security, trade, investments, space, defence & consular, among others.
Following the talks, India and UAE signed two documents. While one agreement was signed on Currency Swap, another MoU was signed for Development Cooperation in Africa.
Sushma Swaraj also co-inaugurated the Gandhi- Zayed digital museum along with the Foreign Minister of UAE Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
India and the UAE enjoy strong bonds of friendship. With nearly 50 billion US Dollar bilateral trade, the two countries are one of the largest trade partners for each other and have made robust investments bilaterally.
UAE is the sixth-largest source of India’s oil imports and hosts a 33 lakh strong Indian community.
