Three unidentified terrorists killed in an encounter in Srinagar
In Jammu & Kashmir, three unidentified terrorists were killed in a counter-terror operation in Mujgund on Srinagar-Bandipora road last evening. Three security personnel were also wounded in the gunfight .
The encounter ensued late in the afternoon when a joint team of security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Mujgund area after inputs about the presence of terrorists.
As the joint team zeroed in on a suspected house, terrorists hiding inside opened fire which was retaliated by the joint team, triggering a fierce gunfight. Three terrorists were killed in the encounter.
The house where terrorists were hiding was damaged during the operation. A couple of other residential houses were reported to have been damaged during the counter-terror operation.
More than 225 terrorists have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir so far this year.
Meanwhile, Kishtwar Police arrested a wanted terrorist Reyaz Ahmed. He is a hardcore motivator of youth who encourages them to joining militancy and terrorist activities.SSP Rajinder Gupta said that police has launched a manhunt to effect certain more arrests shortly.
