Democracy is heritage of country & shouldn’t be taken lightly: PM Modi

PM Modi resumes ‘Mann Ki Baat’ after a gap of three months. PM says 2019 polls are world’s largest democratic elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi resumed his monthly radio broadcast programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday after a gap of three months.

Sharing his thoughts, he touched upon the painful days of emergency that the country witnessed. The Prime Minister said that every citizen of the country felt that something has been snatched away from him, during emergency.

He said that democracy is India’s heritage and lack of it was severely felt during the national emergency in 1975. Prime Minister Modi said that we should not take our invaluable democracy for granted.

PM Modi hailed the humongous scale at which the Lok Sabha elections 2019 were held. He also said that he had not returned to office, but the people had brought him back.
