Delegation of EU Parliamentarians to visit Jammu & Kashmir on Tuesday; Prime Minister Narendra Modi says the visit to J&K should give the MPs a clear view of the development and governance priorities of the region.
The 28 members of parliament of the European Union is scheduled to visit Srinagar and will meet Jammu and Kashmir administration officials and local residents of Srinagar on Tuesday. They are also likely to call on the J&K Governor.
On Monday, the members of parliament of the EU had called on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prime Minister told the delegation of European Union MPs that close international cooperation is essential to fight terror and urgent action is needed against those supporting and sponsoring terrorism.
Prime Minister said that India’s relationship with the European Union is based on shared interests and common commitment to democratic values.
Prime Minister said delegation’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir will give them an insight into the cultural and religious diversity of the region. He added that their visit will also present a clear view of the development and governance priorities of the region.
