Indian Navy, Sri Lanka Navy Maritime Exercise SLINX-20 Trincomalee of October 19 to 21
Annual Indian Navy (IN) Eighth Edition – Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) Bilateral Marine Exercise Slinex-20 is scheduled from 19 to 21 October 2020 from Trincomalee, Sri Lanka.
SLN ships ‘Sayura’ (offshore patrol vessel) of the Sri Lanka Navy representing the ‘Gajabahu’ (training ship) led by Rear Admiral Bandara Jayatilaka represent the Sri Lanka Navy.
The ‘Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet’ under the command of domestically built ASW Corvettes ‘Comorta’ and ‘Kiltan’ Rear Admiral Sanjay Vatsyan will represent the Indian Navy.
In addition, the Indian Navy Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) and Chetak Helicopter flew in and the Dornier Maritime Patrol aircraft also participated.
The previous edition of SLINEX was launched in September 2019 from Visakhapatnam.
SLINEX-20 aims to improve interoperability, improve mutual understanding and exchange best practices and approaches for multifaceted naval operations between the two navies.
In addition, this exercise will also demonstrate the capabilities of our domestically built naval vessels and aircraft.
