China, Russia Build strategic mutual trust and avoid strategic miscalculation
China and Russia on Tuesday signed an agreement on notifications of ballistic missile and space missile carrier launches.
The validity of the contract will be extended for another 10 years. The two sides stressed that the signing of the protocol would further deepen the comprehensive strategic coordination between the two countries, according to a statement from the Chinese Ministry of Defense.
Both sides noted that it was conducive to the joint management of the global security and strategic stability system. The protocol was signed by Chinese State Councilor, Defense Minister General Wei Feng, and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu via video conference.
A spokesman for China’s Ministry of National Defense commented that the agreement on missile launch notifications was of positive importance to boost strategic mutual trust and prevent strategic miscalculations.
