Pakistan fires shells in Arnia sector; India gives befitting reply

New Delhi, October 27 : There was heavy firing at all eight border outposts in the Arnia sector of Jammu and Kashmir late Thursday night. Pakistan fired shells in the residential area here. Many posts from Pakistan were destroyed in India’s retaliatory action. About seven rangers are also reported to have been killed.

In this firing, Basparaj, a Karnataka soldier posted at Bikram Post, sustained shell splinters in his legs and hands. The soldier was shot in the leg at Jabbowal post. Both have been admitted to Jammu Medical College. Four civilians have also been injured. His treatment is also continuing at the hospital.

More than 25 mortar shells from Pakistan have fallen in the residential areas of Arnia, Suchetgarh, Sai, Jabbowal, and Trewa. Due to heavy firing, BSF has put the entire area on high alert. BSF has instructed the people of the border area to stay in their homes. Also, a high alert has been put in place in the border area, including Arnia. The police have started barricading all the roads leading to the border and searching the vehicles.
