Brexit: Another jolt to PM Theresa May
Another humiliation for the beleaguered Britain Prime Minister Theresa May on Brexit.
The MPs have voted to take control of the House Commons business in an unprecedented move to try to find a majority for any Brexit option. The government was defeated by 329 votes to 302 on the cross-party amendment, a majority of 27.
However, Britain Prime Minister Theresa May has said there is no guarantee she will abide by their decision.Meanwhile, the EU announced it has completed its preparations for Britain crashing out of the bloc without a divorce accord, as fears of a chaotic no-deal Brexit grow.
In another development, three junior British ministers quit on Monday over Brexit, defying Prime Minister Theresa May to support a plan to give MPs a bigger say over leaving the EU.
