Nepal’s President Bidya Devi Bhandari leaves for 9-day China visit
Nepal’s President Bidya Devi Bhandari has left on a 9 day state visit to China. During the visit she will attend the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing.
President Bhandari will also hold delegation level bilateral talks with her Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping followed by signing of agreements in various areas.
She will meet senior Chinese leaders and address a joint meeting of business community from Nepal and China.
On her way to Beijing, Nepali President will also visit Xi’an, the capital city of Shaanxi Province.
While returning home, she will visit Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
In both places, she will meet with the provincial leaders.
President Bhandari is accompanied by a high level delegation including Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Chief Minister of Province No. 3, Dor Mani Paudel and Members of Parliament.
She will return Kathmandu on 2nd of next month. This is the first visit of Nepali head of the state to the northern neighbor since she was re-elected as president of Nepal for a second term in March 2018.
