MEA-Branch Secretariat Hyderabad has organised a Inter School Quiz Program on “ India and the World”
Ministry of External Affairs, Branch Secretariat Hyderabad has organised a Inter School Quiz Program on “ India and the World” qualifying round in Hyderabad today 29th August, 2019 at Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, Hyderabad.
A Total Number of 15 schools from Hyderabad has participated in the qualifying round. In the qualifying round, all the 15 participating schools were divided into three groups and three finalists were selected from each group.
Delhi Public School, Nanakramguda; Bhavan’s Public School, Jubilee Hills; Glendale Akademy, Sun City, Rajendra Nagar were declared as winner of each group. They will join other three teams that have qualified in Round one that was successfully conducted in Vijayawada on 26th Aug, 2019 and will participate in the finals that will be held on 06th September 2019.
Shri Anil Kumar, IPS ( Addl CP Traffic) was the chief guest to the program and was also attended by Dr Vishnu Reddy, Regional Passport Officer and Head, Hyderabad Branch Secretariat.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Anil Kumar has advised the students to start looking beyond and understand the world. Students being the future generation of leaders, he asked them to broaden their thinking and do hard work to achieve their goals. He also asked them strictly follow the traffic rules and make it a point from young age itself to have strict discipline in their life as habit.
Earlier explaining the objective of program, Dr Vishnu Reddy, Regional Passport Officer and Head, Hyderabad Branch Secretariat, Ministry of External Affairs has said that the quiz program aims to introduce young students to the world of diplomacy and ignite their interest in International Affairs at a time when India’s stature in the world order is on the rise and India is all set to become a major global power. It is being organized in collaboration with the Indian Journal of Diplomacy, he added.
MEA as part of its public diplomacy and outreach activities regularly conducts various activities to promote greater awareness and understanding of India’s foreign policy and its implementation among different stakeholders including general public.
