WORLD’S LARGEST AIRCRAFT TO MAKE DEBUT IN 2017
Beijing: China’s amphibious aircraft, stated to be the world’s largest, has successfully passed engine tests and is expected to make its maiden flight in the first half of 2017.The aircraft officially called AG600 rolled off a production line in the southern city of Zhuhai in July 2016, and has since undergone a series of rigorous tests.
Between February eleven and thirteen, all four of its engines performed excellently in tests, state-run Xinhua news agency reported on Wed quoting China Aviation trade General craft Co. Ltd.The 37-meter-long plane with a wingspan of thirty eight.8 meters, is by far the world’s largest amphibian craft, about the size of a Boeing 737, it said. It is meant to support emergency response efforts.
The aircraft has a most take-off weight of fifty three.5 tonnes and will collect twelve tonnes of water in twenty seconds. It is the results of nearly seven years of labor by a bunch of 70 craft part makers and analysis groups.
Over 150 institutes from twenty provinces and municipalities in China, and over 90 p.c of the merchandise used on the plane were created in China, the report said. It has received 17 intent orders to this point, it said.
