Spain to hold repeat election on November 10
Spain will hold a repeat parliamentary election on November 10; The decision was taken by the acting prime minister Pedro Sanchez after he failed to secure enough support to be confirmed as premier. Sanchez’s Socialist Party got the most votes in the April 28 elections but failed to get a majority.
He acted after the king, who is the head of state, said there were no viable candidates to lead a new government.
Politicial parties are blaming each other for putting the country on course for a repeat election.
November election would be the country’s fourth general election in four years.
