Navy Chief on 4-day visit to Bangladesh
Chief of the Naval Staff, Indian Navy Admiral Karambir Singh arrived in Dhaka on a 4-day long visit of Bangladesh on Saturday. According to the Press release issued by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka, Admiral Karambir Singh will meet chiefs of air force, army and navy of Bangladesh and the Principal Staff Officer of Armed Forces Division during his visit between September 21-24.
He will be meeting high ranking dignitaries of Bangladesh including Security Affairs Advisor to Prime Ministe Sheikh Hasina. Admiral Karambir Singh will call on the Regional Commanders of Bangladesh Navy.
Visit to Khulna Shipyard, various Bangladesh Naval Stations and operational facilities is also scheduled for this period. Admiral Karambir Singh will visit Bangladesh Naval Academy and interact with trainee officers of Bangladesh Navy.
The visit is part of the tradition of regular high level exchanges between the armed forces of both countries. The release said the visit will enhance friendship and bilateral co-operation in the domain of maritime defence. The Admiral is accompanied by a two member delegation.
