Army pays tribute to soldiers killed in Pakistan ceasefire violation

The Army today paid tributes to Havildar Hardhan Chandra Roy, Nayak Satai Bhushan Ramesh Rao, Gunnar Subodh Ghosh and Sepoy Jondhale Rishikesh Ramchandra, who sacrificed their lives in North Kashmir on Friday (November 13, 2020) after the Pakistan Army committed an unprovoked ceasefire violation.

At a solemn ceremony held at BB Kant Srinagar, Chinar Corps Commander Lieutenant General BS Raju and all ranks paid tribute to the beautiful soldiers on behalf of the proud and grateful nation.

On 13 November 2020, the Pakistan Army launched unannounced ceasefire violations in multiple areas of Kashmir.

In the Yuri sector, the late Havildar Hardhan Chandra Roy and the late Gunnar Subodh Ghosh of the Artillery Regiment were recruited, while the late Maratha Light Infantry leader Satai Bhushan Ramesh Rao and the late Sepoy Jondhale Rishikesh Ramchandra were appointed.

In an artillery shelling not promoted by the Pakistan Army, these brave men suffered multiple fracture injuries. They were given immediate medical attention and rushed to the nearest military medical facility, but unfortunately died of their injuries.

The late Havildar Hardhan Chandra Roy, 38, hails from Medhipara, Futkibari tehsil village in Dhubri district of Assam. He joined the Army in 2001 and is survived by his wife and son.

The late Nayak Satai Bhushan Ramesh Rao hails from Village Kotal in Nagpur district of Maharashtra and is 28 years old. He joined the Army in 2011 and is survived by his parents.

The late Gunner Subodh Ghosh joined the Army in 2017 and is 22 years old. He is survived by his wife and parents from Village Raghunathpur in Tehatta tehsil in Nadia district of West Bengal.

The late Jondhale Rishikesh Ramchandra hails from Azara Tehsil village in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra and is 20 years old. He joined the Army in 2019 and is survived by his parents.

The Chinar Corps has acknowledged the supreme sacrifice made by Sub-Inspector Rakesh Doval of the Border Security Force who sacrificed his life during a ceasefire violation in the Naugam sector.
