PM Modi and Sheikh Hasina to jointly unveil Commemorative stamp on Bangabandhu
In yet another highest level of exchange between India and Bangladesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be holding a virtual Summit with his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina on Thursday.
The summit is taking place after the visit of PM Modi to Bangladesh in March this year had to be postponed in the wake of the sudden onset of COVID-19.
Bangladesh is commemorating the year 2020 as Mujib Borsho – the birth centenary of the father of the nation of Bangladesh – Sheikh Mujibur Rahman popularly known as Bangabandhu. In honor of this great leader, both Prime Ministers will jointly inaugurate a commemorative stamp on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahma
After the liberation of Bangladesh in 1971, Bangabandhu promoted close and friendly relations between India and Bangladesh. He called the people of India the best friends of the people of Bangladesh. Delivering his remarks during the commencement of Mujib Borsho on 17 March 2020, PM Modi remarked that Bangabandhu was “one of the greatest personalities of the last century”; and that “his entire life is an inspiration for all”.
