China to hold top legislature’s annual meeting in March 2021
China will hold the annual meetings of its top legislative and political advisory bodies in March next year, the official News Agency reported Saturday. The National People’s Congress (NPC), China’s top legislature, will start its annual session on 5th March 2021 in Beijing.
The National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country’s top political advisory body, will begin its annual session on 4th March 2021. The NPC, China’s parliament, usually sits for at least 10 days. The CPPCC, an advisory body to the parliament, runs in parallel. Both the meetings are commonly known as “Two Sessions”.
