Nepal’s PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal resigns
Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has resigned from his post.
Addressing the nation on television Wednesday evening PM Dahal announced his resignation.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has received his resignation and asked the current council of ministers to continue till new cabinet takes over.
Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba is likely to be new prime minister.
Prime Minister Dahal resigned as per the understanding arrived with coalition partner Nepali Congress last at the time of formation of the government.
Prime Minister Dhal said that he wanted to address the nation through parliament but due continuous obstructions in the house he decided to directly go among the people.
Dahal said that he took the charge of prime ministership at a very difficult time but within a short span of 10 months government has successfully changed the conditions.
Highlighting the achievements of his government Prime Minister Dahal said that significant development have been made in various fields including electricity, water, education, health, agriculture, industry and foreign investment.
He said that foreign relations with neighbouring countries have further strengthen during his time.
Referring to Indo-Nepal relations he said that both countries have arrived on better understanding in various fields, specially in political, border and security, economic, connectivity, energy, water resources, education and culture.
