India To Start Its Largest ‘Underwater Defence Deal’

India has finally initiated its largest defence deal in history with six other countries namely France, Russian, Germany, Sweden, Japan and Spain.

After a long haul of 10 years,India is planning for this deal and the countries will in partnership with India will build six advanced stealth submarines for an estimated amount of Rs 70,000 crore.

This programme branded as Project 75 (India), has been languishing in government files and discussions amid political apathy ever since the government first approved it back in November 2007.

Though, the project is finally out as the first mega ‘defence deal’ under the new strategic partnership of Defence Ministry.
