Army foils attempt of Pakistan’s Border Action Team, kills intruder

Averting a major tragedy, the Army on Sunday night foiled an attempt of Pakistan’s Border Action Team to cross the Line of Control in the Poonch sector, killing one intruder.

The body of a heavily-armed intruder was later recovered along the Line of Control during a search and sanitisation operation launched later.

The Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing on Sunday along the LoC in Poonch to facilitate an infiltration attempt by a group of terrorists. Indian troops deployed at the border detected the movement and engaged the infiltrators with effective automatic fire. Two jawans were injured in the firing which are now recuperating in the hospital.
