Doubling farmers’ income our prime focus : Prime Minister of India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the three-day annual Krishi Unnati Mela, which began on Friday. Prime Minister reviewed various stalls and interacted with people.
The main focus is on reducing agricultural costs and risk management, new technologies, micro-irrigation, waste water utility of agricultural and related fields were also displayed through the stall.
The main theme of this fair is to double the income of farmers by 2022 & it will continue till March 18.
The objective of the event is to create awareness among farmers about the latest agriculture-related technological developments.
Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated the Jaivik Kheti or Organic farming portal and laid the foundation stone of 25 Krishi Vigyan Kendras.
Apart from encouraging research, there is also an effort to encourage value addition.
E-Nam, the agri E-Marketing portal helps farmers to take their products directly to buyers.
Allied sectors like fisheries, bee keeping are also being promoted by the govt. to add to farmers income.
Prime Minister conferred Krishi Karman Award to best performing states and also Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Krishi Vigyan protsahan awards.
While addressing the gathering, Prime Minister said that his govt is working on doubling farmers income & making their lives smooth.
