Preparations to welcome PM Modi in full swing
In Nepal preparations to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi are in full swing. PM Modi will embark on a two day State visit to Nepal on Friday. This will be his third visit to Nepal as Prime Minister.
In the first leg of his visit PM Modi will arrive at Janakpur on Friday. He will visit historic Janaki temple and offer special prayer. Later Prime Minister Modi will be accorded a civic reception by the Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City.
In the afternoon PM will leave for Kathmandu, where he will be given ceremonial reception. Later Prime Minister will call on Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun and President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
In the evening, PM Modi will have delegation level talks with his Nepalese counter part. Later both the prime ministers will jointly lay foundation stone of Arun-III hydro power project through remote and make press statement.
PM Modi will also attend banquet hosted by Prime Minister Oli.
On Saturday Prime Minister will visit historic Muktinath temple and offer prayers.
Later leaders of various political parties will call on Prime Minister Modi in Kathmandu.
PM Modi will also attend civic reception hosted by Kathmandu Metropolitan City before returning to New Delhi. This is the first high-level visit from India since the formation of the new Government in Nepal.
Meanwhile, Nepal’s Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli held discussions with former prime ministers and former foreign ministers of the country about upcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the meeting held in Kathmandu on Tuesday evening Oli briefed them about issues to be taken up with PM Modi and solicited their advice.
