Iranian foreign minister meets Sushma Swaraj in New Delhi
External affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Monday held wide-ranging talks with her Iranian counterpart Jawad Zarif on bilateral and global issues of mutual interests.
During the talks, the Iranian Foreign Minister sought India’s support in salvaging Iran’s nuclear deal with leading world powers in the wake of the US pull out from it. The Iranian Foreign Minister visited China, Russia and some European countries in the last three weeks after President Donald Trump announced Washington’s withdrawal from the nuclear deal.
Earlier in the day, Swaraj said India will continue its trade with Iran not withstanding the US sanctions, adding that New Delhi only recognises UN sanctions.
