Camp office of Indian Embassy in Biratnagar to be shut down from August 1

The camp office of Indian Embassy in Biratnagar, Nepal will be closed from August 1.

According to a press release issued by the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, all services including issuing of motor vehicle permits, registration certificates for Indian nationals, attestation of documents and birth/death registrations being rendered by Biratnagar camp office will cease with effect from 1stAugust, 2018.

The embassy has requested all concerned persons to contact Embassy of India, Kathmandu office from August 1, for availing services which were earlier rendered by the camp office in Biratnagar.

The Biratnagar Camp Office was opened in 2008 to deal with the situation arising out of devastating Kosi floods. The purpose of this Camp Office has been fulfilled and Government of India had decided to wind up the Camp Office and re-locate the personnel. The decision was conveyed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to his Nepalese counterpart K.P.Sharma Oli during his visit to Nepal in May this year.
