Navin Kumar Ghimire appointed as new Chief Commissioner of Nepal’s CIAA
Navin Kumar Ghimire has been appointed new Chief Commissioner of Nepal’s Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).
Chief Justice Om Prakash Mishra administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mr. Ghimire in the presence of President Bidya Devi Bhandari in Kathmandu this evening. The Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli, House of Representatives Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Bhanubhakta Dhakal and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
Earlier in the day, Parliamentary Hearing Committee unanimously endorsed Mr.Ghimire’s name for the post of Chief Commissioner. He was working as acting chief of CIAA since February 2018.
