Indian Embassy in Nepal celebrates Republic Day with patriotic fervour

The Indian Embassy at Kathmandu celebrated 68th Republic Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm on Thursday.

Ambassador of India to Nepal, Ranjit Rae hoisted the national flag and read out the message of the President of India.

On the occasion, the Ambassador distributed cheques worth Rs.3.75 crore to the widows and next kins of deceased soldiers of Indian Armed forces.

The Embassy also donated books to 60 educational institutions of Nepal. Reaffirming the commitment of Government of India towards economic development of Nepal, Embassy gifted 20 ambulances and four buses to various hospitals, non-profitable charitable organisations and educational institutions.

A coffee table book on the President of India’s visit to Nepal in November 2016 was also released by the Ambassador. More than one thousand guests including dignitaries, Indian and Nepalese community, Embassy officials and their families attended the function.

The ceremony concluded with sparkling performances by the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Modern Indian School, Indian Cultural Centre and Nepalese Army Band.
