President Ramnath Kovind addresses University of Melbourne

President Ramnath Kovind wrapped up the first ever Presidential visit from India to Australia among students at Melbourne University. Australia ranks the second most preferred destination for Higher Education for Indian students. He also met Governor of Victoria Linda Dessau in Melbourne.
Three action packed days in Australia closed with President Kovind addressing students at the University of Melbourne.
Education is a force multiplier. Happy to note that “education” has been chosen as the flagship sector for Australia in the “India Economic Strategy” commissioned by your government.
Australia today is among the top five research partner countries for India. The India Strategic Research Fund is Australia’s biggest investment in research collaboration with any single country. It brings together over 90 top universities and research institutions on both sides. India and Australia have committed to adding Aus$ 10 million each to this fund.
The students were enthused by President Kovind’s words.
Ties between the India and Australia are witnessing a transformation under the Modi government and t he first Presidential visit from India to Australia proved to be a landmark one.
